Angkor in September

Postby Tena » Tue Apr 27, 2010 7:23 am

I'm travelling to Cambodja on September (second half) and I'm not sure if I should book an hotel in Angkor in advance. Any suggestions ?

Amelia,
September is not high season at Angkor so I don' think advance booking is really necessary. I don't know what price level you are looking for, but here is a great resource for all things Cambodian.

Good luck with your planning.

A lot of choices in every price category, so you don't have to book in advance, just show up and inspect the room!

We just turned up off the bus & got a hotel no problem

If U also arrive by bus in Siem Reap. Be careful of Tukytuky drivers who claim that you get a free tukytuky into town with your bus ticket. Its a scam to get you to take a tour with them the next day. This happened to us. because we hadn't decided what to do, we said no & the bloke got really Nasty.

Of course if u have decided to travel the temple on a tukytuky tour then its a good opportunity for a free ride into town!

Hi Amelia,I and my travel buddy will travel to Cambodia from 12 Sep to 19 Sep, the sites except visiting Angkor Wat, also covers Phnom Penh, we were basically done everything before coming including accommodations, but like others said September is low season , pretty much rainy almost 21 days in one month, the accommodations around Angkor Wat are much cheaper than you come in high season, I will stay La Maison D'Angkor hotel and Day Inn Angkor Resort, and also get 50% discount of room rate. So depends on what you want. You can search for more hotels that you might want.Have a lovely trip.Susan

Advance booking on accommodation is not necessary. But somehow you need to prepare VISA in advance. The only thing you need to watch out IMO.
