Any info on travelling canada?

Postby rock » Mon Apr 26, 2010 4:51 am

Hi guys

I am travelling to Toronto in March next year to spend 12 months in Canada, cant wait!
Just wondering if there are any other people that will be doing the same? If so, get in touch please?

Also any advice on must see places while Im there would be very much appreciated!! I will be starting in Toronto and probably stay there for a few months to work then I would like to move up to Vancouver.

Any suggestions would be fabulous!!

Thanks!!

Luv Paula x x

what sort of things are you looking to do in canada? there's a lot of opportunity for camping, especially in the great northern wilderness! are you planning on only going west of toronto? i've actually not spent much time west of toronto in canada, but i recommend montreal and quebec city if you'll be coming eastward. i go to school in kingston, a couple hours to both toronto and montreal. good luck :)

Toronto is a very fast, very exciting city.
Things to check out IMO
-Toronto Eaton centre
-Cn Tower and Sky dome(Rogers centre)
-Bloor/Yorkville area(Great shopping)
-China Town
-Kensington Market, St.
-Toronto Zoo
-Hockey hall of fame
That is what I can think off the top of my head

As far as other places to check out
-Montreal
-Ottawa (Approx. 5 hour drive from Toronto)

Canada is a huge country which I feel you should explore before anything else.

I went round canada a few years ago in a camper van and drove all over which was amazing. Places we went were the obvious places like Niagra falls, toronto and montreal etc and it was an amazing holiday.

Recently I;ve been to lake louise (well banff) for some snow and lake louise was excellent for ski, and the setting was perfect. Sunshine Village, a nearby resort was also brilliant.

If you dont ski/board, then you should try and get into the rockies at some point, as although I;ve not been there during the summer I have been told it is a great experience.

Paramount Canada's Wonderland is one that hasn't been mentioned yet. Oh, and here's a little tip: DON'T DRIVE in DOWNTOWN TORONTO. Places like Eaton Centre, Ontario Place, CN Tower, they're all subway/TTC accessible. Trust me, it'll save you one major headache driving in Toronto.
hope u have a great trip.......
thanks.......
