My wife and I are Travelling up from Santiago and need to get to Lima to start our Inca Tour.
I'm looking for some advice on what bus to get from Arica, what company to travel with etc etc...

Any help and tips will be appreciated, its our 1st time in South America.

i havnt been there yet ,but plan to in summers.
From santiago you dont necessarily need to go to Lima for the inca tour ...U can go to cuzco from arica after crossing the border.the probable route would be via tacna aand puno (in peru)..and from there to machu pichu either taking a trek on the inca trail or a train ..the guide books say that theer are plenty of buses and i also plan to travel from santiago de chile to machu pichu on land!!

I think the good company in Peru was Cruz del Sur or something similar.

Go to the bus station and buy your ticket though as it is MUCH cheaper than buying from an agent even including a taxi to the station to pick them up.
